  Class A Truck Driver Responsibilities

• Be able to drive and successfully operate a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pick up loads, verify for accuracy, and deliver on time
• Accurately complete paperwork
• Load and unload various types of cargo safely
• Drive safely in various conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
• Inspect vehicle before start of shift; perform basic truck maintenance when necessary
• Follow schedule and rest when necessary
• Be able to read maps and follow directions to a location

Skills Needed to be a Class A Driver

• Be able to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Drive for long periods of time safely
• Self-motivated and reliable
• Able to read maps and GPS
• Customer service skills
• Good knowledge of roads and direction, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
• Pallet jack experience

Requirements for Being a Class A Truck Driver

• Valid CDL Class A License
• Possess a HAZMAT or Tanker License (if applicable)
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 21-years-old
• Clean driving record (requirements may vary)

We are looking for a yard jockey to assist in moving and spotting equipment required to facilitate the needs of warehouses in organizing and processing material for shipment or storage. The responsibilities of Yard Jockeys include trailer sanitation, moving equipment, and conducting daily inspections.

To be successful as a yard jockey, you should have good eyesight, be physically fit, and communicate effectively. Ultimately, a top-notch Yard Jockey should be able to perform under pressure, have good driving skills, and be responsible.

Yard Jockey Responsibilities:

• Completing trailer sanitation before reloading
• Moving equipment around the yard
• Notifying management of repairs that need to be made
• Storing equipment in safe areas
• Conducting regular inspections of incoming and outgoing equipment
• Conducting an inventory of equipment

Yard Jockey Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience is preferred
• Physically fit
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Good eyesight
